Railay is a peninsula near Krabi town in Thailand. The peninsula is comprised of two beaches, the mangrove covered East Railay which is where the ferries dock and the beautiful West Railay, which is where this photo was taken on our second to last night in Thailand.

Karekare Beach on a rather unpleasant Evening

Sometimes exciting light at the end (or beginning) of the day happens but more often that not that patchy cloud in the sky that promised so much on the trip out the the west coast turns into a full grey blanket that hides any hint of the sun and its associated colourful sky as it slinks below the horizon.

Bethells Beach

A few weeks ago I took a drive out to Bethells Beach (Te Henga) on Aucklands west coast to photograph the sunset. While I waited for sunset I found some seaweed to photograph, turns out that was all I'd get as the sunset was a bit of a fizzer.
