Lake Taupo at Dusk

Lake Taupo at Dusk | 10mm | 2 exposures @ 6.0 & 1.6 sec | f16 | ISO100

A few weeks ago I posted these images that I took of Lake Taupo at sunset. While the sunset was one of the best I've seen I was not completely happy with the composition of my shots.

The shot above, which was taken a few weeks before on another trip to Taupo, sat unloved on my computer until I rediscovered it the other day. It was taken at Waitetoko Beach, which faces north as opposed to Mission Bay which faces more west (and therefore towards the setting sun). Despite the fact this sunset was much more uneventful I think that the final image is much more pleasing than the other two.

Not quite behind the lens, but close enough.
