Nihotupu Falls are two waterfalls located in the central Waitakare Ranges on a short track just off Piha Road.

The picture here is of the lower falls, I couldn't quite get close enough to the upper falls to get a decent shot, although I've seen plenty of other pictures of the upper falls so it must be possible to do a bit of bushwhacking to get a better angle.

Further up the track is the Upper Nihotupu Reservoir and Dam, which by itself is worth the walk to see.

I tried a different processing technique on this image to emphasise the lushness of the bush and rocks while still making sure the waterfall is the star of the show.
